Crane Cable (Flat/Round)

The design of crane cables needs to have excellent flexibility, resistance to bending and dragging, tensile strength, and torsional resistance to meet the power supply or control connection requirements for frequent movement of lifting machinery equipment. They are widely used in various lifting machinery equipment such as overhead cranes, gantry cranes, portal cranes, bridge cranes, and grabbing devices.

In terms of cable structure design, flat or round structures can be considered:

Flat structure: Designed with a core wire structure in a “one” or “cloverleaf” shape, galvanized tensile soft steel wires can be placed on both sides of the cable as load-bearing tensile elements as needed. Compared to round structures, crane cables designed with this flat structure have a smaller bending radius.

Round structure: It is recommended to use a double-layer sheath reinforcement structure design, utilizing low-viscosity high-pressure extruded inner sheath + outer sheath + tensile and torsion-resistant braided layer structure design for the cable. This design provides superior flexibility, tensile strength, and torsional resistance, making it particularly suitable for lifting machinery equipment, especially for long travel distances or vertical movements.

For the tensile strength of the cable, materials such as galvanized tensile soft steel wire ropes, TP ropes, Kevlar tensile fibers, etc., can be combined to design the load-bearing tensile elements of the cable to enhance its tensile capacity.

For cables with control selection structures, the control wire group can include a high-density shielded network layer made of tinned copper wire braiding as needed to effectively counter electromagnetic interference and ensure stable transmission of control signals.

For different installation applications, special modified elastomeric nitrile or polyurethane materials can be used in the design of the cable’s outer sheath to meet the cable’s requirements for wear resistance, oil resistance, waterproofing, acid and alkali corrosion resistance, temperature resistance, weather resistance, tear resistance, aging resistance, fatigue resistance, etc., under different working conditions, ensuring the cable’s durability in various environments.

Main parameters of the cable:

Rated voltage: Customizable within the range of 0.6/1KV and below;

Test voltage: 4000V;

Temperature range: Customizable within the range of -40~+90°C;

Bending radius: 8~10xD (for mobile installation);

With excellent electrical performance and cable characteristics, crane cables are widely installed in indoor factories, warehouses, outdoor yards, material handling areas, stations, docks, ports, ships, mines, and various other working environments for lifting machinery equipment, providing assurance for the movement of lifting machinery equipment in diverse working conditions.
