Polyurethane, commonly known as PUR, is used as a sheath material for flexible cables. Its product features include oil resistance, wear resistance, and low temperature resistance. Polyether type can withstand low temperatures up to -60 degrees Celsius, while polyester type can withstand low temperatures up to -40 degrees Celsius. Widely used in industrial machinery and equipment, transmission control systems, various industrial sensors, industrial CNC equipment, electronic devices, household appliances, electromechanical, port and other equipment.Power supply and signal connection for various industrial sensors, detection instruments and meters used in harsh environments such as oil prevention. The power supply and signal connection can be processed into slingshot wires and produced into drag chain cables, suitable for harsh outdoor low-temperature environments and frequent mobile situations.
Advantages of PUR Cables in Cavo flessibiles
1.PUR cable excellent wear & abrasion resistance
PUR provides much higher abrasion resistance than PVC and NBR. It resists dragging, rolling and friction, making it ideal for continuous flexing in cable chains, reels and mobile equipment.
2.Outstanding oil & coolant resistance
It maintains excellent stability when exposed to hydraulic oil, lubricants, engine oil and cutting fluids, without swelling, softening or sticking.
3.Good chemical resistance
Resistant to weak acids, alkalis, detergents and many solvents, suitable for use in chemical, food processing and cleaning environments.
4.Wide temperature range & weather resistance
Remains flexible at low temperatures without brittleness. It also withstands UV radiation, ozone and outdoor aging, performing reliably indoors and outdoors.
5.High flexibility & dynamic flex performance
Features high flexibility and good rebound, suitable for continuous bending, twisting and winding. It has a long service life in high-flex applications such as robots and drag chains.
6.High mechanical strength & tear resistance
Strong tensile and tear resistance, less prone to damage from sharp edges or metal burrs, ensuring high reliability in heavy machinery.
7.Flame retardant & eco-friendly options
Available in halogen-free, low-smoke, flame-retardant and non-toxic versions, complying with safety standards for rail transit, wind power and electrical equipment.
Simple comparison, easy to understand at a glance
PVC: cheap, generally flexible, not wear-resistant, not oil resistant, and hardens at low temperatures
NBR (Nitrile Rubber): It can withstand oil, but its wear and weather resistance are not as good as PUR
PUR: Wear resistant, oil resistant, weather resistant, flexible, and tear resistant, leading in all aspects
If exposed to hot water or tropical climate for a long time, PUR cables mainly composed of polyester will undergo a chemical reaction, which will reduce their mechanical strength. Relatively speaking, polyurethane mainly composed of polyester is more resistant to decomposition.
Polyether PUR cables have weather resistance and ozone resistance in various climates. Exposure to sunlight may cause fading, but this alone does not affect its performance.
